Artist Research

Stefano Mocini has over 20 albums/EP's on Jamendo, including the album "A Cat Playing" which has the track "Injustice" which I will be using for my coursework. He has been involved with music since the age of 6, first playing the keyboard before later moving to the piano after hearing the song "Back to Life" by Allevi. He places a focus on abstract yet simple cover art for his songs, and emphasis in the songs is placed on melody and being simple yet effective.

I chose his song "Injustice" for my project because I feel it suits a simple and elegant music video, with focus placed on the beauty of location, the composition and lighting of the shot and also allows freedom regarding editing techniques. The absence of lyrics allows me to either ommit a narrative or write my own, and I plan on repeating imagery throughout the video for dramatic effect. The sole use of the piano also allows shots to be easily taken without needing more instruments, and simply this beautiful song suits and requires a beautiful video - narrative and drama can be added through techniques such as increasing contrast and repeating & building on previous imagery.
